The Cocoon is our small-group healing retreat at Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. Same two people you see in Houston, same plain talk, a lot more time. The women's and men's retreats run eight nights.
Simply Reiki started in Houston in 2012. We still come back a few times a year to see you. The rest of the time we live at Lake Atitlán, in Guatemala, and that is where we host The Cocoon.
Depending on the retreat, the days include somatic work, breathwork, sound, Reiki, and fire or ancestral ceremony. Rest is built in. The group is small. And the two of us will tell you the truth.
You have had a session or ten and you want more room than one appointment gives.
A vacation, a plant medicine retreat, or a replacement for your therapist or doctor.
You already know how we work in Houston. We don't rush you, and the session takes what it takes. But at some point you get up off the table, drive home, and go straight back to your inbox.
The Cocoon takes the drive home out. You stay with what came up. You sleep on it, eat, sit by the lake, and come back to it the next morning with people who are doing the same thing.
Each retreat has its own page with the dates, the price, what is included, and how the days run. We keep that detail there so there is one place to check and it stays current.
Somatic release, breathwork, sound healing, ancestral ceremony, and Reiki, with a small group of women and room to actually rest between.
Read about The ButterflyFor the man who is tired of carrying everything alone. Fire ceremony, brotherhood, somatic release, and ancestral work.
Read about The MothA family retreat on the shores of the lake. Healing work and cultural immersion, together.
Read about The KaleidoscopeA private retreat for when a group isn't right. Ask us what it looks like and we will tell you straight.
Ask about The CaterpillarTell us who you are and what you are looking for. We will say which retreat fits, or that none of them do right now.
The two people behind Simply Reiki Houston host The Cocoon. You are not handed off to a stranger once you land.
Reiki Master Teacher. More than 14 years of practice and well over 10,000 sessions. She has studied with five Reiki Masters across three lineages. Blunt, funny, and warm underneath. She will not make you decode what she is offering.
Sound healer, breathwork facilitator, and meditation teacher. Tye started The Cocoon after the family settled at Lake Atitlán. He came to this work the long way around, and he talks like it: plain words, a joke first, then the real thing.
You don't have to book a retreat because you liked a session. Plenty of people do one and stop there, and that is a good answer too.
New to us? Book a session when we are in Houston, Nov 20 to Dec 5, or virtually anytime. Already know you want more time? Skip ahead.
Write to us or schedule a clarity call. We will tell you honestly whether a retreat fits right now. Sometimes the answer is not yet.
Read the retreat page for dates, price, and what is included. Reserve your spot there.
Fly into Guatemala City. From there it is a shuttle and a boat ride across Lake Atitlán, and we will walk you through the route.
No. Reiki, breathwork, sound, and ceremony are support, not treatment. If you see a therapist or a doctor, we'd like you to keep them in the loop, and you can tell us what we need to know on the call.
No. Nothing at The Cocoon is built around plant medicine.
No. You don't need experience, and you don't need to believe anything before you arrive.
Each retreat page lists the dates, the price, and what is included. We keep it there so there is one place to check, instead of an old number sitting on this page.
Yes. Nothing about Simply Reiki Houston changes. We are back Nov 20 to Dec 5, and virtual sessions are open year round.
Write to us or schedule a clarity call. We will tell you if it is not a fit. We'd rather say that than fill a seat.
Tell us what is going on and what you are hoping for. A few lines is plenty.
